Artist's Description

I had seen this barn in a painting by a friend and knew that when I got to Park City, Utah, I would photograph it since barns are my fetish. I took my initial photos as we headed into Park City but then pulled over on the way back and photographed the barn in full sunlight. I knew the first photos wouldn't be any good.

But when I looked at the negatives, I immediately went for the subdued shot, the one with the sun streaming in from the side and illuminating the grass, not the barn. And not the sun illuminating some trees in the distant background.
